We diversified our service offerings to meet the changing market needs better and invested heavily in training our teams to upskill in emerging technologies. [00:04:51] Speaker E: I enjoy the service oriented nature of.
[00:04:53] Speaker D: This industry and the fact that through our work, we enable our customers to achieve their missions in any part of the globe.
[00:05:01] Speaker E: This ability to empower others to better communicate is incredibly gratifying. Another attractive aspect is the current state.

[00:05:32] Speaker D: Cultures and languages is professionally and personally rewarding to me.
[00:05:37] Speaker C: Conversely, entering a new industry with experience from other fields can equip you with atypical skills. What lessons have you applied from your time in real estate, ecommerce, travel and lifestyle and retail?
[00:05:51] Speaker E: My professional journey has taken me through challenging industries where technology and competition constantly.
[00:05:57] Speaker D: Push companies to think and move forward. That is my main motto, adapt, challenge and act. It's about constantly adapting, questioning existing methods and taking decisive action to stay ahead.
[00:06:10] Speaker E: Whether in B, two, B or BDU.
[00:06:12] Speaker D: Couloms industries, sustainable growth is based on.
[00:06:15] Speaker E: Identifying and encompassing our customers needs creating.
[00:06:19] Speaker D: Strong benefits for them.
[00:06:20] Speaker E: This involves actively listening to their requests, sometimes challenging them, and always partnering to achieve their goals. Building strong, trustbased relationships with clients is.
[00:06:31] Speaker D: Crucial across all sectors.
[00:06:33] Speaker E: Whether helping someone find their ideal home.

[00:06:46] Speaker C: Line for your career is sustainability something acolad emphasizes in its business practices?
Can you share what sustainability means to you?
[00:06:55] Speaker D: At Acolad, for me, sustainability is about balancing economic growth, environmental protection and social well being. It's more than just a concept.
[00:07:05] Speaker E: It is a principle deeply embedded in our core values at ecolad and influences every aspect of our operations and decision making processes. Our commitment to an open working environment.
[00:07:16] Speaker D: Is at the heart of our approach to sustainability.
[00:07:19] Speaker E: We embrace diversity and inclusion as key.
[00:07:22] Speaker D: Drivers for sustainable growth, and that comes.
[00:07:24] Speaker E: Across in our team's heterogeneity and collaborative mindset. Ethics also plays a crucial role in our sustainability efforts as we hold ourselves.
[00:07:34] Speaker D: Accountable to the highest standards, ensuring our.
[00:07:37] Speaker E: Business practices are effective, but also responsible and conscientious. It's also about our commitment to building.
[00:07:44] Speaker D: A better future and not settling for the status quo. We constantly seek ways to improve, innovate and lead change, ensuring that we are.
[00:07:52] Speaker E: Always progressing and evolving.
[00:07:54] Speaker D: In the last two years, we have.
[00:07:56] Speaker E: Also been actively working on reducing our carbon footprint. This includes minimizing the need for physical offices, encouraging a balanced approach to remote.
[00:08:05] Speaker D: Work, and optimizing our use of cloud technologies.
[00:08:09] Speaker C: Another career theme is nurturing a creative environment.
[00:08:13] Speaker B: What does this look like at accolad?
[00:08:15] Speaker E: That definitely is something I stand behind quite fiercely. It's about nurturing a culture where creativity and autonomy bring ideas to life and propel us forward.
[00:08:25] Speaker D: A creative working environment will boost productivity, boost team engagement, and make you want to come to work every day.
[00:08:33] Speaker E: I was fortunate to find a likeminded team with shared values and similar mindsets that believes work can be as much fun as it is challenging. And passion for what we do runs.
[00:08:43] Speaker D: Deep throughout the company that contributes to.
[00:08:46] Speaker E: A collaborative atmosphere where everyone knows they.
[00:08:48] Speaker D: Can speak up, share ideas, and contribute with their thoughts and actions.
[00:08:52] Speaker E: We elected forward thinking and openness as.
[00:08:55] Speaker D: Two of our core values, which are what they are all about, being open to others, listening, collaborating, taking initiative, not fearing difficulties, being hungry for progress.
[00:09:06] Speaker E: We try to nurture that feeling by creating the right channels and opportunities to aid in that.
[00:09:12] Speaker D: The AI ambassador program, which we launched some months ago, is a great example of that, where we are not only.
[00:09:18] Speaker E: Encouraging our teams to use AI in.
[00:09:20] Speaker D: Their daily work, but also asking them to share their experiences and ideas with their peers.
[00:09:26] Speaker B: You're not the first of Acolad's new leadership team.
[00:09:30] Speaker C: Chief revenue Officer Grain Maycock and returning professional Arnold Dakes, executive VP for North America, preceded you. What kind of a dynamic does that.
[00:09:40] Speaker B: New blood bring to Acolad's leadership?
[00:09:43] Speaker D: First, it's about sharing a vision and a strong team mindset.
[00:09:47] Speaker E: I was lucky to join a seasoned leadership team that embraces the group's culture, smartly blending fresh vision and strong expertise.
[00:09:55] Speaker D: As you mentioned, 2023 was a year.
[00:09:58] Speaker E: Of a fresh beginning for aka lads.
[00:10:00] Speaker D: Leadership with the arrival of some remarkable.
[00:10:03] Speaker E: Talents from both within and outside the company who have quickly adapted to their new roles and pushed our global goals.
[00:10:09] Speaker D: Forward with their energy.
I would highlight not only Grain, who.
[00:10:13] Speaker E: Took over last year as CRO and has significantly boosted our revenue streams and Arno driving the fast development of our.
[00:10:21] Speaker D: Business in North America, but also Miko.
[00:10:23] Speaker E: Hackerain in the Nordics, Daniel Gray in.
[00:10:26] Speaker D: The US sales team, Christine Wetzel in Dutch, Haley Krieger in the UK and Rocco Filomeno in South Europe.
[00:10:34] Speaker E: And we will have some more highlights lined up for 2024. It's a combination of welcoming new talent and valuing those who have been with.
[00:10:42] Speaker D: Us for a long time, and it's that combination, that balance that truly differentiates.
[00:10:47] Speaker E: Us and has been a cornerstone of.
[00:10:49] Speaker D: Our growth and success.
[00:10:51] Speaker C: Minds across the industry are focused on the technological revolution of AI and automation.
What is your vision and how do.
[00:10:59] Speaker B: You foresee Acolad embracing it as an industry?
[00:11:03] Speaker D: We are in the midst of a revolution and are traveling at light speed through it. We can never fight the current, so.
[00:11:09] Speaker E: We should embrace it and learn to.
[00:11:11] Speaker D: Use it to our advantage. Language service providers lsps need to act.
[00:11:16] Speaker E: Now to establish their future role in helping organizations so that they can achieve their global content and growth goals. And while we are still in this bus period, organizations cannot wait forever to.
[00:11:27] Speaker D: See what comes next or how others will deal with it. They need to take concrete action and be fast with it.
[00:11:33] Speaker E: Ecolad has been proactively adapting to this new reality since 2016.
[00:11:38] Speaker D: It's not new to us. We have embraced it, and we're already seeing the practical applications in our work.
[00:11:44] Speaker E: Such as hybrid machine translation, AI models.
[00:11:48] Speaker D: AI assisted linguistic QA, content generation workflows.
[00:11:52] Speaker E: And audio and video creation.
[00:11:54] Speaker D: With AI support. For instance, we've just completed a project.
[00:11:58] Speaker E: For audio instructions and components for a.
[00:12:00] Speaker D: Well known board game. No need to list them all, but.
[00:12:04] Speaker E: Just to illustrate the number of new possibilities. I also firmly believe that data and connectivity are key to success in this AI driven industry.
[00:12:12] Speaker D: At a colad, our AI and data steering committee with representatives from sales, tech and operations has been essential to our.
[00:12:20] Speaker E: Strategy in terms of internal and client solutions. Moving from hype to reality with AI.
[00:12:26] Speaker D: Is also about empowering our people. As mentioned, we launched our AI Ambassador.
[00:12:31] Speaker E: Program this summer with great new initiatives. Over 70 volunteers from all departments integrated this program to enable and experience AI internally and help the rest of the company on board.
[00:12:43] Speaker D: It is something I am truly proud of. We appointed the head of AI solutions who will work with our sales solutions.
[00:12:51] Speaker E: And AI teams in prioritizing customer use cases.
[00:12:55] Speaker D: We also actively develop our partner programs.
[00:12:58] Speaker E: As success will come with integrating multiple, evolving technologies efficiently.
[00:13:02] Speaker D: My vision for a colad to be.
[00:13:05] Speaker E: Fully service centric and have AI increasingly.
[00:13:07] Speaker D: Become part of our dna.
[00:13:09] Speaker C: You place a high value on the importance of technology and the irreplaceable value of people in the workplace.
Given the tension many are experiencing between these elements, how do you believe they can be harmonized?
[00:13:22] Speaker E: As seen in the recent multimedia industry.
[00:13:24] Speaker D: Events and the actor and writer strikes.
[00:13:27] Speaker E: Technological developments must be managed ethically. We must find the right balance and value.
[00:13:33] Speaker D: What is unique and timeless, human creativity and emotion.
[00:13:37] Speaker E: This is the responsibility of not only.
[00:13:39] Speaker D: Lsps but also buyers. We reap the rewards of the world we build. It is our responsibility as a company. One cannot advocate for sustainable, positive and.
[00:13:50] Speaker E: Ethical behavior in its CSR policy while.
[00:13:54] Speaker D: Not considering this effectively.
[00:13:55] Speaker E: People need to be aware of both the possibilities and shortcomings of these new technologies and be educated on how to.
[00:14:02] Speaker D: Apply them ethically and positively. As a company, we have made it.
[00:14:06] Speaker E: Abundantly clear that no technology can thrive.
[00:14:09] Speaker D: Or reach its full potential unless it is human driven.
[00:14:12] Speaker E: We are encouraging our teams to embrace Gen AI to empower themselves.
[00:14:17] Speaker D: Of course, this will involve adaptation, upskilling, learning new ways of doing things, but.
[00:14:23] Speaker E: We want them to understand how positive.
[00:14:25] Speaker D: This is for them, allowing them to.
[00:14:26] Speaker E: Lessen the load of time consuming repetitive tasks and focus on being creative and unusing their talents more productively.
[00:14:33] Speaker D: And while there is external pressure to use AI to cut costs, which is not always the case, we are also.
[00:14:40] Speaker E: Trying to educate customers to understand that having a human led take the helm and use AI to enhance the results.
[00:14:46] Speaker D: Is the only way to go. As I have mentioned, we ask, you.
[00:14:51] Speaker E: Can technically fly a plane on autopilot.
[00:14:53] Speaker D: Without any human pilot, but would you?
[00:14:56] Speaker E: That analogy seems very fitting to this day and age.
[00:14:59] Speaker B: Anything else you want to add?
[00:15:01] Speaker D: Despite some uncertainty, I remain confident about.
[00:15:05] Speaker E: Our industry's ability to navigate these challenges, supported by developing new skills and perspectives.
[00:15:11] Speaker D: Abraham Lincoln once said, the best way to predict a future is to create it.
[00:15:16] Speaker E: This will be the motto of a.
[00:15:17] Speaker D: Co lab and my own for the coming years. I would add that the best way to shape that future is by doing it collectively with our teams, customers, partners, and vendors.
